Wheke is a distribution of Drupal made for libraires with some of its thousands of modules. The whole form a simple to use, coherent and perennial set ready to use. This project, launched by BibLibre is published under a GNU licence (V2 or more).
What is Drupal?
Drupal is an Open Source CMS (Content Management System) with a light core. Drupal is nevertheless very powerful thanks to the thousands of modules available on Drupal.org. These modules significantly improve the features of Drupal. It is also possible to download hundreds of theme to cutomise your website as close as possible to your needs.
What about Wheke?
Wheke is a Drupal distribution made for libraries. This distribution integrate your ILS inside your portal, allowing you to improve significantly its features. You will be able to incorporate PDFs, pictures, etc in your collection and to propose a simple, advanced or federated search (from external sources).
With Wheke your users are able to log in to your catalog, place reservations, consult the availability of items as if they were in your ILS. They are able to view their profile too, and in this way manage their current check-outs, holds and fines.
